Summary of Features:
- Supports more drives than any other software including Pioneers's A03/04 super drives and Panasonic's DVD-Burner.
- Supports Dual Processor PCs(Panasonic, Prassi, VOB and other software do not.)
- Easy to Use:"drive letter/drag and drop access":
There is no interface(unlike other applications!). WriteDVD!TM provides a drive letter access for "drag & drop" convenience.
- For Windows, two separate drive icons clearly differentiate between rewriteable and read only modes based on the type of disk placed in the drive. Other products format it as a Compact disk. This is critical when using other applications. For example, WriteDVD!TM is recommended by Dantz for its Retrospect back up product. See Retrospect-DVD knowledge base
- WriteDVD's Format UDF feature is the only software that allows DVD media to be formatted in UDF versions 1.0.2, 1.5, 2.0, or 2.0.1, or optional native FAT or HFS formats.
- Easily creates partitions, tests media for defects and write protects.
- Compatible disk interchange between Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Available is different languages: Eng, Fr, Gr, It, Jp and Sp
- Proven reliability - With over four years of technical collaboration with all DVD drive manufacturers and the most extensive installed base of PC users, WriteDVD! has proven itself in the labs and in the field. It is recommended by Microsoft and licensed by Hitachi, Panasonic, and Toshiba.
- Speed - SAI's third generation file system with built in caching is tuned to optimize performance. Unlike other software, WriteDVD!TM formats and operates in the background.
How does SAI do this?
For seamless, true drag and drop functionality, the file system and driver architectures need to be fully integrated. For over 14 years, SAI has been a pioneer and leader in developing file systems and driver utilities that support both block addressable and sequential recording media. We applied this knowledge to create a utility that lets DVD-RAM, -R/W, +R/W and CD-RW media be used like floppies.
The UDF format is the new international format standard for all types of storage devices because it provide compatibility between different computers and operating systems.
In addition, UDF is the ONLY way to ensure proper
use of high capacity disks. For example, Windows file system (FAT)
does not allow for larger than 2GB volumes in legacy operating systems
and only 4GB on newer ones. The OSTA UDF specification was designed for
high capacity and allows for 1 terabyte and above volume sizes in UDF.
WriteDVD!TM ensures compatibility between Mac
OS and Windows implementations of UDF formats. SAI strictly adheres to
the OSTA specifications for UDF (others do not) and continually tests
to ensure its formats are interchangable between operating systems. To
