The First Utilities for fixing and recovering files on Removable Disks using the Universal Disk Format ("UDF")

FixDVD! V2 and FixUDF! V2 are diagnostic tools designed to help you identify and repair problems with a formatted UDF (Universal Disk Format) disks. Such discs could be data discs created on a PC or recorded video discs created on a set top DVD recorder. Even if they cannot repair the disk so it can be mounted, it can copy the files from the damaged disk to your hard drive and from there, recover your data or video. The UDF data format for disk file structures is based on the standard developed by the Optical Storage Technology Association (OSTA). (OSTA).

Why Use Our Fix Utilities?

Disks become damaged or are unreadable for a number of reasons.

• volume could be physically damaged by scratches, dirt or other foreign matter, or by fingerprints
• incomplete or damaged UDF file structures
• non-compliant UDF file structures (the OSTA standard may not have been used when the file structure was created. For example, Roxio’s DirectCD™, BHA’s B’s Clip™ and Aplix’s PacketMan™ UDF file system utilities create a non-standard UDF format, and therefore are not interchangeable with other kinds of systems.)
• data structures altered by other software or by a system crash

The above can lead to lost data or the inability to mount the disk (inability to click on the drive letter or icon to view the contents). Our file recovery software allows you to diagnose and repair problems so the disk can be mounted and used. Even if they cannot repair the disk so it can be mounted, it can copy the files from the damaged disk to your hard drive and from there, recover your data.
