Mac X version Mac System Requirements Windows version Windows System Requirements Mt. Rainier FAQs |
Mac System RequirementsProcessor - Apple Power Macintosh and Imacs Operating System - Mac O/S 8.5 to 9.2, and Mac X Bus Support - SCSI, ATAPI, USB, FireWire Drive - CD-RW drives listed below Memory - 2 MB RAM, 15 MB Hard Disk Space The following is a list of drives currently supported by WriteCD-RW! for Mac. Please check the model number of the actual drive in the case, as many Brands actually buy and integrate drives made by the manufacturers listed below. This drive list will be updated continuously as we add support for new drives Mt. RainierIDE/ATAPI
USB-Specific Issues SAI has found that if a disc is in the USB drive during startup the USB Manager will assign Apple's USB driver to the CD-RW drive, so that the CD-RW disc is mounted as a locked volume. To make sure that the SAI driver loads for the CD-RW drive, please startup with no disc in the CD-RW drive. We are currently working with Apple to resolve this issue. Drive-Specific Issues - Toshiba SD-R1002 and SD-R2002 CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combination Drives- WriteCD-RW! only provides a driver for the CD-RW mechanism of this drive. DVD functionality may be limited or non-existent when used with WriteCD-RW!. - Plextor PX-W1210A This drive does not provide media type information. Therefore, WriteCD-RW! cannot tell the difference between a CD-ROM and a CD-RW disc when used with this drive. Read-only CD-ROM discs will still work, but may appear to be writable. - Ricoh CD-R/RW RW7063A (IO Data CDRW-i64/USB) This drive will fail on the first low level erase of a piece of media if the firmware revision of the drive is 1.70. If you reinsert that piece of media and perform a high level erase the media will work fine. With version 1.90 of the firmware there isn't any problem performing a low level erase. |
