Software Architects, Inc ships
WriteDVD! (TM) for Windows NT (R)

WriteDVD! gives you everything you need to run a DVD-RAM drive on Windows NT
plus the advantage of formatting disks that are interchangeable with other computer systems.

Bothell, WA...Software Architects, Inc. (SAI) announces shipment of WriteDVD! for NT - the first software utility providing everything you need for a DVD-RAM disk drive running Windows NT.

WriteDVD! is based on the world's first commercially developed read/write Universal Disk Format (UDF) file system. Following DVD Forum specifications - the international standard for running DVD-RAM drives, SAI's WriteDVD! is the first "plug and play" software utility product line that runs re-writable DVD-RAM drives on Windows NT PCs.

Announcing the shipment SAI President Robert Zollo commented: "SAI is excited to extend the powerful capabilities of DVD-RAM to the Windows NT community worldwide. SAI is the first to offer DVD-RAM capability to Windows 95, Windows 98 and Macintosh users and the worldwide standard for DVD-RAM systems. SAI is dedicated to providing Windows NT users the software necessary to take advantage of the immense multimedia and data storage benefits of using DVD-RAM on all PC platforms."

Key Benefits

Reliable disk interchange:
Using the UDF file system, the formatting utility FormatUDF! (TM) and the driver provided with WriteDVD!, NT users can read as well as write to a UDF formatted disk which can be used between different computers and operating systems.
One drive reads all:
- that is if you have a DVD-RAM drive and SAI's software! WriteDVD! comes with a powerful device driver called SmartDVD! (TM) which enables a DVD-RAM drive to read from a CD-ROM, CD-Audio, CD-R, CD-RW and Video CD as well as DVD-ROM and DVD-RAM.
Flexibility:
NT users can format and run their drives using the industry standard UDF format or traditional Windows FAT format.
Easy to use:
WriteDVD!'s UDF file system uses the familiar drive letter interface NT users already know.
Standardization:
WriteDVD! is based on UDF 2.0 - the latest version specified by the DVD-Forum.

DVD-RAM's long term presence in the marketplace is assured not only because of the incredible low cost, high quality and truly versatile multimedia and data storage solutions it presents but also because of the combined commitment the computer and entertainment industries have demonstrated in developing together a universal standard. As a member of the DVD-Forum as well as long time member of the Optical Storage Technology Association (who first proposed UDF to the DVD-Forum), SAI's knowledge and expertise in applying the global standard is unparalleled. More information on UDF can be found at SAIÕs web site www.softarch.com.
