Software Architects, Inc ships
European line of DVD-RAM utility software for Windows® NT

SAI is the only company in the world to offer localized
DVD-RAM utility software for the European market.

Bothell, WA…Software Architects, Inc. (SAI) announcement of it's European line of WriteDVD! for Windows NT is being made at DVD-RAM…Today and Tomorrow, the August 31st DVD-RAM industry event held at the Argent Hotel in San Francisco during Seybold's Publishing Conference and Exposition.

Commenting on the announcement, SAI's European Director David Butcher stated: "SAI's continued dedication to meeting the needs of it European customers is unrivaled. Earlier this year, we announced our European line of WriteDVD! for Windows 95/98 and later our European line of DVD-RAM TuneUp for Macintosh. We are excited to also offer Windows NT users in Europe the same high standard of reliable, "plug and play" DVD-RAM utility software."

Key Benefits:

  1. WriteDVD! for Windows NT is everything the Win NT user needs to setup, run, format, test, read and write (and rewrite) to DVD-RAM drives. It consists of a SmartDVD(tm) device driver, the Universal Disk Format (UDF) file system and formatting utility FormatUDF!(tm).

  2. Available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish on one disk.

  3. Reliable disk interchange: Windows NT users in Europe now have the advantage of formatting DVD-RAM disks that are interchangeable with other computer systems. Windows and Mac users no longer have to deal with system conflicts when reading and writing their multimedia presentations, storing data or backing up their systems to DVD-RAM drives.

  4. One drive reads all: SAI's SmartDVD! device driver configures a DVD-RAM drive to read CD-ROM, CD-Audio, CD-R, CD-RW and Video CD as well as DVD-ROM and DVD-RAM media.

  5. The industry standard: The DVD Forum specified Universal Disk Format and file system (1.02, 1.5 and 2.0) ensures that ten, thirty or fifty years from now your information will be as readable and rewritable no matter what the preferred platform will be.

  6. Flexible. Win NT users can format and run their drives using the industry standard or traditional Windows FAT format.

  7. Easy to use. WriteDVD!'s UDF file system uses a drive letter interface already familiar to Win NT users.

  8. Superior technology. UDF's superior formatting and block addressable technology allocates disk space on DVD media more efficiently than is possible with CD-ROM or CD-RW thereby providing unparalleled volume capacity. UDF's use of Unicode - a character set of 65,536 possible characters together with it's much larger volume size delivers enormous multimedia solutions particularly relevant to the multi-lingual market of Europe.

As a member of the DVD-Forum as well as a long time member of the Optical Storage Technology Association (who first proposed UDF to the DVD-Forum), SAI's knowledge and expertise in applying the global standard is unequaled. More information on SAI's DVD solutions and UDF can be found at SAI’s web site www.softarch.com.
