GreatVideo!™ Digital Video Converter Adds Integrated iMovie™ Support

GreatVideo!™ v2.1 converts video recorded on consumer DVD video recorders; downloads directly into Apple iMovie™ for quick and easy editing of TV shows and commercials

Kirkland, WA, 13 November 2006: Software Architects, Inc., announced release of GreatVideo! DVD Video File Converter v2.1 for Apple Mac systems running Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above.

Powerful and Easy to Use
GreatVideo! is the first and only software application that automatically reads, copies and converts
recorded DVD video discs automatically to Apple iMovie, iTunes™ or any QuickTime™ video format
for editing, authoring and mastering on a Mac 10.3 or 10.4 systems or playback on Apple Video iPods.

Leveraging the power of Apple iMovie™ and iTunes™ for use with Recorded DVD Video
Apple’s popular iMovie and iTunes applications cannot input DVD video file formats. GreatVideo! v2.1 enables the fast and easy use of TV recordings made on consumer video recorders on OS 10.3 and 10.4 systems by automating the conversion process and directly downloading into selected Apple applications.

One Button Conversion and Download to iMovie
Now converting and editing your favorite TV video is easier than ever. Select the “iMovie” option, and the selected video recording is automatically converted into the iMovie project file format. Unwanted scenes, including commercials, can be easily edited out of the video using the iMovie editing functions.

One Button Conversion and Download to iTunes
Select the “iTunes” option, and the software automatically converts the selected video files into
MPEG-4 format and downloads to your iTunes video folder. Select the “play list” option and GreatVideo! automatically adds the video file to the iTunes play list that you pick. Download your iTunes play lists to a Video iPod and enjoy your personally recorded DVD video files displayed in high quality without any editing or conversion operations required. There is nothing new to learn.

Supports Reading All Types of Recordable DVD Video Formats and Media Types
Standard movie DVD discs are formatted in the “VOB” file format. When recording to DVD-R/W or DVD-RAM discs, DVD Video recorders and camcorders record live video to the Video Recording (“VR”) format, a different format specified by the DVD Forum for this application. GreatVideo! V2.1 supports reading and converting video recorded in either format to “Mac friendly” QuickTime formats for use on Mac systems, iTunes and Video iPods. (GreatVideo! does not support conversion of CSS encrypted commercial DVD Video discs).

Supports Dolby and LPCM Audio Files
Version 2.1 supports VR discs containing audio files compressed in Dolby AC-3, as well as the uncompressed, LPCM format audio option used on many consumer DVD recorders and camcorders. Audio encoded in MPEG-2 is saved in uncompressed format, making it easy to edit and use in other applications.

Advanced Features
Advanced features include selecting the compression rate, number of key frames per second, bit rate, and color as allowed by specific video formats.
