DVD-RAM TuneUp™ Pro v5 provides seamless integration of DVD Camcorders with Apple PowerMac™ Systems

Software Architects, Inc., the world’s first and leading supplier of disk drive utilities that use the Universal Disk Format (UDF), announced the commercial release of DVD-RAM TuneUp!™ Pro V5.0 for Apple OS 9.

Version 5.0 provides “drag & drop” conversion of “.VRO” format DVD video recording files to Apple QuickTime™ format. Video files recorded on Hitachi and Panasonic brand DVD camcorders can be downloaded and converted for use with Apple video editing and playing software, plus many third party video editing and authoring software, including Adobe Premier™.

DVD Video Capture, Conversion and Use, Fast & Easy!

Users can record video with the hand-held camcorder, insert it into any DVD-RAM or RAM media compatible DVD-ROM drive running on an Apple system, and mount the disk on the Mac OS “desktop”. Recorded video files dropped onto the GreatVideo!™ Converter Utility, are de-multiplexed, decompressed from MPEG2 “.VRO” format video files, and converted to any QuickTime™ video format the user selects. The converted files can be used by any Apple or third party application that supports QuickTime formats, or played by the QuickTime Movie Player utility. Sound and Video are automatically synchronized for immediate playback. The software can also quickly erase the disk so that it can be immediately re-used in the camcorder or video recorder.

Options

The GreatVideo!™ Converter Utility allows the user to convert to any of the 21 video formats supported by QuickTime, including Sorensen™, Motion JPEG, Video, and raw video formats.
