Fast, Reliable and Easy to Use
ArchivistPro turns any re-writable optical disc drive or external hard disk drive into the ideal archival solution for small and medium size businesses, as well as departmental record keeping in larger organizations. The software supports Tapestry holographic recording media, DVD-RAM, MO, UDO, Blu-ray disc , external HDD and USB flash memory, as well as DVD-R/W devices. ArchivistPro is Win32 API compliant, making it compatible with most popular third party applications.
The software is based on a UDF file system that represents the devices as a drive letter. Users can "drag & drop" files to the drive, or save from within a third party application.
The ArchivistPro UDF file system performs on par with or faster than most native file systems, especially with larger file sizes. File access is integrated with MS Explorer, so there is nothing new to learn
Fast File Access, Version History and Retrieval
Now you can easily find and use each version of every file written to disk, including deleted files. Simply 途ight click on the drive letter icon of the Archive disk in My Computer in Explorer. Select the "History..." option from the right click menu and the "File History" window will appear. Use the "Directory Tree" view on the left side of the window to browse for the file you are interested in. Select the version of the file by date/time or by version number in the list view on the right side of the window. For DVD-R/W, the version history browser displays files by writing session. The specific version of the file is automatically copied to your Hard Disk and is opened in the application that created it. Ideal for viewing and accessing audit trails of high vaalue files.
Powerful and Easy to Use
ArchivistPro provides an easy to use "drive letter" interface for reading, writing and archiving files to disk. Simply drag and drop files to add, update, arrange or delete within Windows Explorer. Select the format type (rewriteable or permanent archival), format the disk. Write files to disk directly from third party applications.
UDF Formatting and Writing Options
Choose from any version of UDF ("Universal Disk Format" for writing in standard, re-writable mode, or select the UDF based "Archive" format for creating permanent record sets on hard disks, Tapestry holographic recording media, BD-RE, MO, HDD, UDO-1/2 or any block addressable optical media. When using the Archive format, files are permanently recorded and cannot be deleted. The software also supports many types of WORM media.
Permanent Records on Re-writable Media
Now you can archive files to hard disk, BD-RE, MO and other block addressable, re-writable media using the Archive format and writing mode. Files and these changes are permanently recorded to disk.
A complete file history is recorded and can be viewed as needed. Low level format the disc to recycle media after the useful life of the files has expired.
Permanent Records on WORM Media
ArchivistPro supports Sony MO WORM media and Plasmon UDO WORM media for applications requiring long Term archival. The software also supports writing to BD-R, DVD-R/W and DVD+R/W media, and includes version history by writing session.
