HD Video Player Software Optimizes h.264 Display Quality with User Configurable Decoding on Mac OS X Systems
Kirkland, Washington…15 April 2009…Software Architects, Inc. announced the release of version 1.1 of its GreatVideo!™ HD video player software for Mac OS 10.5 with user configurable parameter settings for optimized decoding and playback of video files recorded in h.264. GreatVideo! HD supports real time playback of high definition h.264 HD 1080i, 1080p and 720p video formats that have been recorded using a variety of encoding methods. Version 1.1 includes 28 user configurable video decoding parameter settings that allow you to optimize the high definition playback for a variety of h.264 encoding methods, including interlaced video files.
Optimize Playback For Each Type of HD Video File
Not all "HD video"is the same. There are a variety of recording options and methods allowed within the h.264 high definition video compression standards. Each manufacturerÕs video recording or display product may compress video recordings in different ways or at different resolutions. Without the correct software to properly de-compress, interpret and display the video file, even the highest resolution HD recordings may look fuzzy or display artifacts that reduce viewing quality. Apple QuickTime movie player supports a limited range of h.264 compression profiles. GreatVideo! HD provides a more complete range of support for interlaced and non-interlaced video formats needed to support the growing variety of recorded HD video.
The user is provided a range of four settings that use Òde-blockingÓ methods of managing the video playback. There are seven types of Òde-interlacingÓ methods to choose from as well. This enables the user to adjust video playback for their specific camcorder, digital camera or other source of video recorded in the h.264 format.

Simply double click on the HD video file to play. GreatVideo! HD automatically opens the Apple movie player, de-compresses and plays your HD video files in high definition and in real time. Adjust parameter settings using two slider bars in the utility for de-blocking and de-interlacing settings, and play your HD video to suit your personal viewing preference.
